| |
I am proud to still be working with some of the same clients I
started out with over ten years ago. My clients call me back because I help them
succeed. Here's the recipe:
- Listen to the client. Understanding his problem and get a
clear understanding of how he wants the solution delivered. Does he want a
report, a piece of software, a hardware prototype, a training seminar...?
- Evaluate the problem carefully. If I can recommend a better resource,
then refer the client to that resource.
- If the client has an engineering staff, then share my knowledge with them
so THEY can solve the problem next time.
- Provide clear written documentation to the customer.
- Measure success by observing the client. If he takes my work and
"runs with it", then I succeeded.
